Cupping Notes: Goro presents potent aromatics and intense fruited characteristics in light to middle roasts, exactly what you'd expect from dry process Ethiopias! The dry fragrance is peppered with berry notes, both dried and cooked, accented by hints of rustic sugars around the edges, with complex floral and herbal aromatic notes. The berry aspects really came through in the wet aroma, with a fragrant dried strawberry note, along with saturated sweetness that reminded me of canned fruits.\n\nCity roasts have a pleasant tartness to the fruited flavor profile, which lends an acidic impression to the cup flavors, an oft missing element in dry process coffees. Top notes in light roasts include hints of strawberry, mixed berry compote, mango, and stone fruits. There's a very nice floral overlay in the light roasts, along with a green-herbal rue note that brought such an enticing aroma to the cup. Faint rustic notes are true to the process method, like hints of sorghum and rice syrups, and slight overripe fruit in the finish.\n\nOverall, the cup flavors come off well-defined for a dry process coffee. Full City roasts have impressive body and flavor, a dense tactile appeal blends nicely with aromatic fruit flavors, like dark chocolate-covered blueberries.
